PAT Interfacing Accessories

EXPO PROCESS ANALYTICS

The Expo Process Analytics team is dedicated to supporting the development of PAT systems and engineering strategies. They work with customers to provide informed spectroscopic, chemometric and engineering on integrating sensors into manufacturing processes to facilitate quality output with reduced downtime, material waste and intelligent operating interfaces.

From lab based pharmaceutical R&D applications to in-line food manufacturing processes and agricultural applications, Expo Process Analytics are perfectly placed to support customers worldwide.

Feed Frame

The Expo Process Analytics Spectrum Feed Frame Simulator expertly recreates the spectroscopic environment of commercially available tablet press feed frames commonly used in pharmaceutical continuous and batch manufacturing processes.

The simulation inlet and outlet ports can be configured to allow accurate “flow through” processing state simulation of traditional tablet press feed systems when required.

  • Minimize use of expensive Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients in the lab.
  • Simulate spectroscopic performance without use of cGMP equipment.
  • Safe, compliant, fully certified simulation with ergonomic operation.
  • Supports use of multiple probe types – NIR, RAMAN, UV or LIF.

Spider Wheel

A solution for Process Analytical Technology measurements in flowing powder and granule streams for powder-based manufacturing, whether pharmaceutical, food or agricultural.

The Spider Wheel devices are designed to manage and control representative sampling in real-time to gather and present samples simultaneously to multiple PAT measurement probes while cleaning the face of the probes in between measurements.

  • Enables inline access to the process stream for spectral analysis.
  • Variable rotation and sampling speed for differing powder or granule types.
  • Handles variable throughputs.
  • Fully traceable material construct.

TASO/RADO

Acquiring good quality PAT measurements within a process stream is the difference between Process Engineers and PAT Scientist delivering a robust PAT system that drives quality measures, output and ultimately profitability of the businesses they work for or not.

Generating high quality measurements can be particularly challenging if the properties of powder or materials being measured cause adhesion or are “sticky” in nature. Or if the powder is so low in density it makes obtaining a signal via PAT difficult.

The TASO/RADO is designed to solve these problems:

  • Integration of a mechanical wiper to address probe fouling or sticking problems.
  • Integrated rotating sample cup that allows periodic collection and presentation of samples to the probe thereby increasing effectiveness of sample measurement.
